Ask yourself this question: Have you ever experienced a moment where you realized something about yourself that wasn’t true ?
Why am I asking this ?
To make you aware that your thinking about yourself might not be doing you the justice you deserve.
Here’s an example:
Imagine a doctor that has done almost a decade of university, internship and all that which follows.
In his job he is insecure, he avoids taking responsibility and avoids situations where he might feel insecure.
He passed medical school, and is a doctor, but his thoughts says otherwise.
or at least tells him he is not a good one.
What’s obvious here is that his thoughts about himself doesn’t match who he is. He is a doctor after all.
Or a guy with such a beautiful voice that people get deeply touched when he sings, but he feels he is not good enough.
His thoughts about himself doesn’t match who he is.
What I am pointing to with all this is that you are not who you think you are.
You are something much more powerful and greater than you can ever imagine.
You are usually the last one to realize just how great you really are.
Have you ever received a compliment from a girlfriend or a boyfriend that you didn’t fully believe?
I certainly have.
Why is this?
Because we have misunderstandings about who we really are.
We have misunderstandings about how reality works.
We do not live in a outside-in reality, we live in an inside-out reality.
There is nothing out there that determines what and how we feel.
Everything comes from inside us.
And when you start to realize that, the misunderstandings you have about you starts to dissolve.
To finish this little twist of mind, I want you to take a moment and savor this sentence:
“I am not who I think I am”
Be open to the notion that you are, and are capable of things beyond your imagination.
